Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday received another hit from the U.S. legal system, as multiple published reports said a grand jury in Washington, D.C., indicted him in connection with the Justice Department’s probe into efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election, including the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.
Trump, the frontrunner in polls for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, on July 18 said he’d gotten a letter informing him he is a target of that probe. He said he anticipated being indicted.
